Protecting the Environment for Future Generations
Since the Rio Earth Summit in 1992, Earth Councils have been established worldwide by people and organizations committed to furthering the goals of sustainability. Each council draws on the dedication and energy of grass-roots initiatives, at the same time creating a platform for action worldwide. Earth Councils support a network of citizen groups, NGOs, and other organizations committed to empowering people in building a more secure, equitable, and sustainable future.
